Murine Pathogen Screening
Viruses can be transmitted through biological materials, which may jeopardize in vivo experimental protocols and cause infections and other health problems in animals. This is a concern to many researchers and managers of animal facilities. Our InVivoPlus antibodies are carefully screened for murine pathogens, and we offer this as an optional service for InVivoMAb antibodies and antibodies that we custom-produce from your hybridoma cells. This ensures that the antibodies are free of murine pathogens and that you have the documentation to satisfy the requirements of your institution’s animal facility and IACUC committee.
Traditional mouse antigen production (MAP) testing requires the use of live animals to detect viruses in biological samples. Bio X Cell employs the latest technology to detect murine pathogens, an ultra-sensitive qPCR technique which boasts lower costs, rapid turnaround times, and eliminates the need for live animals.
We recommend murine pathogen testing for any antibody used in an in vivo application. Bio X Cell offers two different testing panels to choose from. Our MAP1 panel screens for six different essential mouse viruses and our MAP2 panel screens for a comprehensive list of 19 different pathogens. Review the table below to select the panel that best meets the requirements of the facility that you are using for your in vivo research.
